MODERN A. KARENINA

These wonderful, wonderful images are photographed by Louise Samuelsen. I’ve just recently found out about her work and I love it.

Something easy for the start of this year. The mood is pretty melancholic but I don´t mind. I just see the beauty.

THIS YEAR’S LOVE(S)

Well, it’s time for my fashion recap – most memorable fashion moments in soon-to-be-called past year. Those are not THE moments in fashion just MY moments from fashion that really stayed with me throughout year and probably will in the future.

And just before I give you this sensational list that survived my fashion overload memory, I need to say that wonderful SS 13 catwalk looks are excluded due to having something to reminisce over in the rest of the cold, shitty winter days hoping to get an instant and decent mood booster.

And now, let’s go down the memory lane:

Candy for a start, why not. Louis Vuitton Summer and Mulberry Spring Summer ADS

Missoni ads

PRINTS. PRINTS. PRINTS.

Always, every year on my list – wonderful Preen (AW12)

Dries Van Noten (SS12), always on my list, also.

Jonathan Saunders (SS12), gorges color palette along with prints

and these Dolce & Gabbana print dresses

DRESSES

This Chloe dress. Sigh…

And sigh for this Alaïa dress

AND SOME OTHER FAVORITE ride-through-magazine-and-internet MOMENTS

Annie Leibovitz for American Vogue (120th Vogue Anniversary)

This styling and photography from British Vogue August 2012, shot by Josh Olins (more here)

Great styling from Romy Fryman, see everything here

As for love part, that’s all there is for this year.

ON ANOTHER NOTE

There were some other couldn’t-miss-it-even-if-you-wanted moments in fashion like Isabel Marant shoes and all other variates of these, Kenzo print T-shirts, barking dog T-shirts and whole realm of studded everything.

If for something, I am totally ready for studded free year. As for other mentioned above, I’ve got nothing to say (No, I do. I don’t like that raging barking dog) except even something beautiful and desirable seen sooo many times can become overused, over-something or just over.

AND AT THE END: SOMETHING different

Internet blessings

What were your favorite and not so favorite moments in fashion?

BACK TO FASHION

Something fresh, vivid, cool, beautiful (I could continue praising) to feast our eyes on: Ostwald Helgason

Ostwald Helgason, German/Icelandic duo, became one of the breakthrough stars at 2012 NYFW; you must’ve seen fashionistas wearing their clothes.
It’s not easy to remember their name (I’ll give you that) but after seeing these pieces, I think you would want to.
have to say that I’m the least fan of orange, never wear it nor feel it, but these ensembles look just perfect.

More Ostwald Helgason, you can see here.

Don’t you just love their clothes?!

WHAT A PARADE

Just looking at this flowery explosion on these dresses usually makes me wanna jump but I’m too sleepy this morning (gonna try again later and see if this still works).

Until I get one like that first one on the left, I’m sticking to black and bundle of flowers under my arm for a Saturday super-appropriate look.
I’m not very fond of the third dress with a camel coat, though. The print pattern is too much like something my grandmother`s handmade cushion. It’s beautiful, just not my style (both, the cushion and the dress).
Style preferences aside, this is one my favorite pics of the year and I love it.

Enjoy your Saturday!
